LEVEL 1 – BEGINNERS

Overview:

These individual courses are all set-up with the absolute beginner in mind. Teaching you the absolute basics, from opening programs, creating documents, basic commands and every day utilities of the programmes.

Audience:

Someone with no previous knowledge of computers and who is interested in making a start.

1 Introduction to Computers
Get acquainted with the parts and components that make up your computer system and familiarize yourself with the language that users refer to.
2 Windows 7 | Windows 10
This is recommended for a total beginner who has little or no knowledge on computers. This module teaches you the very basic, i.e. opening and closing programs, creating a basic document and using cut, copy, paste, bold, etc. features, saving and printing a document.
3 Microsoft Word 2010 | 2013
Learn to create and edit documents, i.e. letters, using the basic features of Word.
4 Microsoft Excel 2010 | 2013
Learn to create spreadsheets as well as using basic formulas (plus, minus, division and multiplication) for easy and repetitive calculations.
5 Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 | 2013 Learn how to produce a presentation, format a presentation, Editing a presentation, check the spelling and grammar of a slide presentation, printing a presentation etc.
6 E-Mail Using Microsft Outlook | Outlook Express This is ideal for the beginner who wishes to be able to send and receive e­ mail messages without the fancy stuff.

LEVEL 2 – ESSENTIALS

Duration:       Depends on the course (12 – 15 hours)

Overview:

This set of individual courses are for the slightly more experienced users. Those who have worked with computers before and are now interested in advancing their skills to the next level, or perhaps those who just want a refresher course. Topics covered advance to installing and uninstalling programs, general housekeeping, formatting, working with e-mail functionalities and much more.

Audience:

Someone with basic knowledge looking to further their capabilities.

Pre-requisite to attend:

It is recommended that you have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 or 10, as well as basic knowledge of using the Microsoft Office Package.

1 Windows 7 | Windows 10
This module is ideal for persons who have basic knowledge about computers, but need to know more about organizing files and folders. This also includes customizing display, installing programs and maintaining the computer.
2 Microsoft Word 2010 | 2013
This introduces the learner to the advanced formatting of Word documents. Topics like advanced formatting of text, working with Clip Art, Bullets and Numbering, Mass Mailing, to name a few, are covered in this module.
3 Microsoft Excel 2010 | 2013 Learn how to produce and use spreadsheets for business purposes. This course covers and introduces the learner to advanced formulas, charts, using outline, what if scenarios, to name a few.
4 Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 | 2013 This will show you how to use the outline feature, proofing a presentation, changing the background colour and colour schemes, headers and footers, using the slide master, working with organizational charts, using tables, AutoShapes and WordArt, using Microsoft Word to create a presentation, using Microsoft Excel to create a chart, inserting photographs, animating slides, inserting background music and saving to other PowerPoint formats.
5 E-Mail Using Microsoft Outlook
This will show you how to enhance, edit and organize mail messages using Microsoft Outlook

LEVEL 3 – ADVANCED

Duration:       Depends on the course (15 – 18 hours)

Overview:

These individual courses are designed for the advanced users who spend the majority of their day working on their machines. Microsoft Word and Excel are covered fully in these courses, leaving the user fully proficient.

Audience:

Those who plan to make use of these programs on a daily basis for more than just personal use.

Pre-requisite to attend:

It is recommended that you have a strong knowledge of computers, as well as intermediate knowledge of using Microsoft Office.

Courses:

The two courses covered in the advanced set are Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
