ARCHITECTURAL DRAUGHTING (BUILDING PLANS)

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of draughting, draughting tools, and various draughting disciplines.

In this course you will learn to produce accurate plans and drawings to scale. You will also learn how to apply this knowledge to your building construction work – using drawings to turn concepts into reality.

When you complete this learning unit, you as a learner should be able to:

  • Explain and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Identify and interpret drawings and symbols used on a drawing.
  • Building drawings (plans).
  • Basic drawing skills – Instruments.
  • Basic drawing skills – Freehand.
  • Basic systems of measurements.

Time: Self-Study (on your own time)

Entrance requirements:

  • Grade 11 (Std 9) with technical drawing knowledge or N2
  • 6 months experience in a drawing office or
  • Intro to Draughting course completion (CAD4ALL Course)
