What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is provided for national qualifications and unit standards, which are formal qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), which is the centralised register of all the nationally recognised qualifications in South Africa. National qualifications are quality assured by the relevant sector education and training authority (SETA). These qualifications carry credits and are certificated by the SETA, Council for Higher Education, not by a provider (which will be the college you study at). Be sure to check with the institution you wish to study with if they are accredited with the relevant SETA or ETQA and if their training is credit bearing and registered on the NQF.
